Interpreted salt pillow Interpretation

North Sea salt pillow. In this interpretation the "pillow" is considered to be a relict part of the partially migrated mother salt - because it appears to contain a clutter of less mobile units (discontinuous high-amplitude reflectors) that would be residual and jamming up the salt channel . It is welded out to the side. This deflation of salt happened before the labelled unconformity. The RH side shows a more continuously-active salt wall with associated flaps - which deforms the unconformity.
