North Sea Salt tectonics - 8: Simon Stewart interpretation Interpretation

VSA Author: Simon Stewart
Date Created: 2008-02-20

Seismic section showing predominantly Cenozoic sediments in the East Central Graben, North Sea. Vertical scale is approximately in metres. A number of passive salt diapirs are fossilised in the Cenozoic sediments of the Central Graben, many of which reach in excess of 2km above the base of the Cenozoic section. Published in: Stewart, S.A. (2007) Salt Tectonics in the North Sea Basin: a structural style template for seismic interpreters. In: Ries A.C. et al. (eds). Deformation of the Continental Crust: The legacy of Mike Coward. Geol Soc. Spec. Publ. 272, 361-396.
