The grey scale image is of a migrated, smoothed envelope section of profile FIRE 4B, published in Kukkonen, Ilmo T. & Lahtinen, Raimo (eds.) 2006. Finnish Reflection Experiment FIRE 2001-2005. Geological Survey of Finland, Special Paper 43, 247 p., 15 apps. ISBN 951-690-963-9; see docs & links for a reference link. FIRE profiles 4, 4A and 4B together image a 580-km section of the northern Fennoscandian field to a depth of 80 km. The covered geological units range from Archaean (3.5 Ga) to Palaeoproterozoic (1.74 Ga) greenstone, granulite and schist belts modified by complex deformation and magmatic events.

This interpretation of FIRE 4B is by Patison et al. (2006). In the interpretation, surfage lithology is correlated with seismic reflectors. For details see Patison, N. L., Korja, A., Lahtinen, R., Ojala, V. J., and the FIRE working group 2006 in Kukkonen, Ilmo T. & Lahtinen, Raimo (eds.) 2006. Finnish Reflection Experiment FIRE 2001-2005.
